In July 2007, sfz was launched. sfz is a new record label, created by HMSC with the sole purpose of bringing musically exciting records to the fans of early music worldwide. Our recordings on the sfz label are available to buy from this website, other online music stores and in high street shops. sfz will also have it's own website at www.sfzmusic.co.uk from which you will be able to purchase sheet music featured on our disks. As one of our customers you can already mail-order a regular CD and eventually pay to download tracks individually or as an album. There will also be extra tracks available which don't feature on the actual CDs - and we're not talking about re-mixes, radio versions or "as seen on TV" versions of previously heard material, these will be completely separate tracks recorded exclusively for this website. Why has HMSC started it's own label? Although HMSC is already a featured artist on the iTunes music store and widely available at music stores across the world on numerous labels, we felt that the freedom and flexibility of the internet would give our fans more choice when choosing the amount, style and content of the music that they are purchasing from us. As well as extra tracks and information, the website will also contain translations of the booklet notes and biographies which, when normally printed and sold with a regular CD increase the cost to the customer. With sfz, you decide on the information you want which means you don't pay for pages you'll never read! Will sfz just be a label for HMSC? No. Although sfz has it's roots in HMSC, and the first few discs will be recorded by HMSC, we plan to record and release recordings of other artists. The main objective of sfz is to enable recordings of genuine artistic intergity to be released to the world of music fans. Watch this space! | ||
