Abigail Newman - alto & tenor sackbut

Abigail Newman graduated from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in 1992 & went on to study sackbut and historical brass at the Royal College of Music, where she was awarded one of the highest marks ever ahieved for her postgraduate diploma recital.

In 1997 Abigail was invited to join HMS&C as a permanent member.

Abigail has since been in great demand with many leading early music ensembles in the UK & abroad, including John Eliot Gardiner's Orchestra Revolutionnaire et Romantique & The English Baroque Soloists, Claudio Abbado's Orchestra Mozart, The King's Consort, New London Consort, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Nedelandse Bachvereniging, The Academy of Ancient Music & The Sixteen.
